Makar Yurchenko, who competes in Moto3 World Championship under Kazakhstan Sokol Racetrack flag, had finished his first race on the 23rd position, season 2019.
On the opening lap, Yurchenko suffered a huge crash provoked by English rider Tom Booth-Amos, involving two more riders in turn 6: Jaume Masia (Spain) and Ayumu Sasaki (Japan). Makar Yurchenko bike has gotten severe damages and had stopped, though the rider started it again and went on forcing his way to the positions in front. Yet, this time his main contenders became technical problems and 46-sec gap – that was exactly how long it took the rider to lift his bike up and start to race again. With bent clip-ons, broken fairing and right footpeg Yurchenko managed to finish 1st race in season 2019 on 23rd position. And with lots of desire to pay off in the next race in Argentina.
Makar Yurchenko: “It is pity that first race in 2019 had finsihed that way. At the very first lap, I’ve gotten a strong kick on the back. It all happened in turn 6, I was getting ahead to overcome few riders and in one moment I had found myself on the asphalt. My bike got some cruel damages, though I started it again and went on fighting, knowing that there can be more crashes and it can lead me to the points.
For now, it is time to remember this experience and to concentrate on GP in Argentina. We will come back stronger!”
2nd stage of MotoGP World Championship will be held in Argentina, March 31st, at Circuito de Termas de Río Hondo.
