Makar Yurchenko takes a place in the Top-10 list after completing season 2016 in Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
Final two stages in Aragon on September 24-25th brought Makar Yurchenko to the 8th position in the overall championship points table. Rider was set fit to the races after a crash in Portimao during FIM Junior Moto3 Championship, although couldn’t set his usual result due to his too early come back after the operation. First Aragon race Makar Yurchenko finished 9th, second – 11th.
Makar Yurchenko: “Red Bull Rookies Cup Championship is perfect for learning tracks in MotoGP calendar. It is a huge experience for each rider. Competing in Rookies Cup is a great advantage for young riders who would like to grow their career in MotoGP world. Second half of the season was not that lucky and productive as we expected: we faced with difficult weather conditions in Brno, I had to miss Misano due to injury, and, as a result, I was not able to recuperate fast for Aragon and I had to race with pain, pushing to the possible that moment limits. Considering the above facts, 8th place in points tables at the end of the season is not that bad, but we’ve set the goals higher. Rookies Cup season has been completed, but there are still two stages of FIM Junior Moto3 Championship. I continue to recover and let’s hope it goes well. Big thanks to Sokol Racetrack and my team, who are always with me, friends and mates who support me! “
The next stage of the FIM Junior Moto3 Championship will be held at the track Circuito de Jerez, Spain, October 2. A live broadcast of the two races will be available on the official Youtube channel: FIM CEV Repsol.
