Makar Yurchenko: “Our task in FIM CEV Junior Moto3 is not easy – every weekend we have to struggle with the bike”
At the 5th stage of FIM CEV Repsol Junior Moto3 championship in Albacete Makar Yurchenko had to find his way to the leading group through the dense string of pilots. Qualified 16th, Yurchenko claimed to be unsatisfied with the results. According to his words, “in cases of unsuccessful qualification he spends too much time during the race to overtake other pilots, while he could start battling for first positions”. Previous race in Montmelo was also a challenging one for Yurchenko, where he got his 6th position, having started from 24th place.
During Albacete race Makar Yurchenko was close to repeat his result in Montmelo, although pilot demonstrated a false start and was penalized with a ride-through. As a result Yurchenko has lost 16 seconds of time and re-exited track in the third ten of pilots. Having recuperated 8 positions, Makar Yurchenko crossed finish line being 23rd. In the overall standings Sokol Racetrack rider now settled on the 12th position.
Makar Yurchenko: “Our task in FIM Junior Moto3 is not an easy one – every weekend we have to struggle with the bike and its setting, to start every practice from zero like we had never touched the bike before. We are trying to find reasons for this, as we lose too much precious time for searching the solutions during weekend, when we should already show the results and make good laps. KTM in general is not an easy bike to pilot, but it cannot be an excuse because I like this bike and I have a feeling. Today we have to stabilize our results – and, as a consequence, my result during weekends. We should reach this point as soon as we can for to work in future properly, fast and make the time work for us, not against us.”
