FIM CEV Repsol Junior Moto3: 14th position for Yurchenko after a tough weekend in Aragon

The race weekend on 28-29th of May turned out to be uneasy for Makar Yurchenko, rider of FIM CEV Repsol Junior Moto3, team 42Motorsport. Due to technical problems during qualification, Yurchenko found it difficult to follow his usual rhythm in Top-10 and had to start Sunday race from 7th row on the grid.

After the first racing lap Yurchenko recuperated 5 positions and found a good rhythm, having set the fastest lap 2.00,7s (lap 8) – 4th best speed time in total. Having shown the spectacular fight for the points, rider Sokol Racetrack had finished the race on the 14th position with 2 points to add in general standings.

After the race in Aragon Makar Yurchenko is placed on the 9th position in the overall standings FIM CEV Repsol Junior Moto3 Championship.

Makar Yurchenko: “Race in Aragon was not easy and was about gaining lots of experience. I did my best during the race and finished it being a leader of the 3rd group. First 2 groups of riders went too far from me and I couldn’t get them. But little by little I was coming closer and we managed to mix between all of us again, so the fight was not over. It is sad to realise that we couldn’t get a higher position on the grid during qualification. This is a base for a result during races, and we have to work harder with my team during free practices and qualifying session. Due to some sad technical problems with the bike we got what we got. I did my best to set the best result possible during race – and we are ready to fight so we will try to set our usual Top-10 the next race in Montmelo!”
